What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that our software places on the visitor's computer when they click your special link to us. The cookie identifies you as the originating affiliate.
How do we use them?
When a customer completes a ticket order on the Internet the shopping cart reads the cookie and sends information to the affiliate software. The affiliate software works out the commission - logs it to your account and sends you an email with the commission amount and the invoice number.
How long do they last?
The cookie lasts for 5 YEARS. If your visitor makes a purchase any time in the 5 years after clicking your link you will be credited with the sale.
This means that you will benefit from repeat business or from those people who are just thinking about a Disney visit right now but will actually do it next year or the year after.
What if the visitor has cookies turned off?
Some people get unnecessarily uptight about cookies and block them from their machines. If this happens we have no way of identifying you as the originating affiliate and you will not be credited with the sale - sorry
Can my cookie be overwritten?
Yes. If a surfer clicks your link and gets a cookie, then visits another of our affiliates and clicks their link your cookie will be overwritten by the second affiliate ID.
What about telephone bookings?
It is very difficult to track affiliate sales via the telephone. We tried a system using extension numbers but it just didn't work. (Customers simply didn't make note of the extension number so we had no idea where they came from) The vast majority of our sales come from the Internet and I increased the commission on Internet sales to compensate for the fact that telephone orders would not be included.
About Credit Card declines
We process credit cards off line. Occasionally you will receive a commission notification that we will need to rescind because the customer's card would not process.
We try hard to get the order! We contact the customer - who will often have a different card. As long as we complete the sale the commission is yours. If, despite all our efforts, the sale needs to be voided we will log into the affiliate system and delete the commission and inform you by email that this has occurred.
We get very few charge backs (next to none in fact) because our system is very efficient. In the event of a dispute with a customer that results in a charge back the commission on that order will be voided.
