Advice for First Time Visitors

This is the question we get asked most often and the one that is hardest to answer. If time and money were unlimited our answer would be easy "buy every ticket and do everything". Alas, for most of us, time is not elastic and money is a scarce resource.

Even if we were to ask "how long are you staying?" we still couldn't tell you which tickets to buy. Just off the top of my head (without really thinking about it) I could suggest at least 10 different itineraries for a 7 day stay!

Where Do You Start?

Before you can decide which tickets to buy you need to plan an itinerary. It doesn't need to be perfect at this stage. More about allocating time than planning a timetable.

The most common mistake first timers make is to try and do too much. They underestimate how hot it will be and how vast the theme parks are. It can be exhausting walking round acres of theme parks when the sun and humidity are at their peek. If you are a mixed group and plan to stick together remember you will only be as fast as your slowest member.

Your mission (should you choose to accept it ) will be to decide what to miss out. Deciding what NOT to do is hard ..... but you must build in some time to relax and kick back by the pool. Only a commando would plan 7 straight theme park days. Trust me - less is more

Here is a quick overview of the main attractions and some suggested time allocations (These are just suggested minimum time - you could easily spend three times as much and still not see everything)

Walt Disney World

Magic Kingdom (Theme Park)

At least 1 day (2 is better)

EPCOT (Theme Park)

At least 1 day (2 is better)

Animal Kingdom (Theme Park)

One Day

Hollywood Studios (Theme Park)

One Day

Pleasure Island (PLUS attraction)

Evening for adults

Disney Quest (PLUS attraction)

1/2 day

Typhoon Lagoon(PLUS attraction)

1/2 day

Blizzard Beach (PLUS attraction)

1/2 day

Universal Orlando

Universal Studios

1 - 2 days

Islands of Adventure

1 - 2 days

City Walk

Evening for adults

Other Orlando Attractions

Sea World

One Day

Busch Gardens (Tampa)

One Day

Kennedy Space Center

One Day (including driving)

Wet n Wild

1/2 day

There are lots more 1/2 day attractions but these are the main ones

Now you can start to pick tickets - just a couple more points to consider!

Walt Disney World and Universal Studios are arch rivals you will never find a ticket that includes both of these. If you want to visit Disney and Universal you will need to buy two separate tickets.

Magic Your Way Tickets for Disney World are complicated. Take some time to familiarize your self with them. Please feel free to call and ask if you are not sure. If you can tell us how many Disney theme park days you want and how many plus attractions you will visit we can suggest the best Disney ticket for you. (Read more about Magic Your Way tickets)

Orlando Bundle of Fun Tickets are often overlooked. A Bundle of Fun gives you 7 or as much as 21 days unlimited admission to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, City Walk, and Wet n Wild (plus Busch Gardens in a 6 park Bundle of Fun) Most people spot the "7 days" and think it is too much ticket. BUT if you use it just 5 times you will be winning.
