Opened in 1971, Magic Kingdom is the first of four theme parks at the Walt Disney World Resort. In 2008 the park was visited by 17 million tourists making it the most visited theme park in the world. Know as "The Happiest Place on Earth" Magic Kingdom is the largest attraction in the resort and is often recommended because of its theme; a place where "Fairy Tales Come True."
The theme park is divided into seven separate areas, each with their own unique themes and rides. The first is Main Street, the entrance to the theme park, following this road leads you to Magic Kingdom's icon, the massive castle. Main Street is lined with shops and food stores; this is often the place people stop when leaving the park to find some souvenirs.
The next is Adventureland, built for the purpose of exploring foreign lands and site seeing. Next we visit Frontierland, the Wild West, from Cowboys to Indians, Tom Sawyer and the Country Bears, this area is fun for all. Next shove off to visit some of the oldest and most classic Disney characters in the book, welcome to Mickey's Toontown Fair. Visit the house of Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald in this playground fun for the little ones. Take a step into the future when you visit Tomorrowland. With space age technology and rides it might just be safe to assume you have warped through time. Magic Kingdom is known for its final fireworks show, which takes place at the massive castle in the center of the park; so don't miss it!
